Something most Banh Mi recipes miss is the emphasis on lard (or a fatty mayo) and pate, glad to see it was included here as those two elements are far more iconic of a Banh Mi than Maggi seasoning. Lots of places use Maggi of course, but it just isn't Banh Mi without the lard and pate aspects which are balanced out by the pickled veggies.

I don't get the point of this concept: Why would a pro chef have a problem making a Banh Mi sandwich faster than another pro chef making a Banh Mi if the first chef have the advantage of 20-25 minutes more time?

FYI to the vegans out there: white sugar often contains bone char which is ground animal bones to make white sugar white.

It's one of those things that's up to the individual. Ingredient-based veganism is easy to track - just read the ingredients and boom. If you want to get into bone charcoal processing, then white sugar isn't vegan, and neither is a lot of steel. Once you get into process-based veganism (there are no animal products IN it, but animal products were used to make it), it's a question of how far down the rabbit hole you're willing to go. A lot of steel is also processed using bone charcoal. At some point you're living in a tipi.

Opening tins sideways like that leaves LITERALLY 100% sharp edges. The lip of the can is shaped to open without leaving a sharp edge with the opener held vertically. A can opened with the opener held sideways can be used as a weapon in a pinch.

basic prep skills...I was a hard time watching - fingers/knife...eek. Also - lots of homes have a spiralizer or a julienne carrot peeler - that would have cut the pickle prep in half at least...loved the expert and Chrissy convo the best! In fact, what have been way more interesting was a split screen with them both cooking together!

Next time, microwave the vinegar, sugar, s&p and then pour it over the daikon/carrots in a mason jar. Close it and let it steam until you're ready to garnish. Less watching over a boiling pot. Also, use a mandolin or pastry cutter to julienne the daikon/carrots next time.

Brad is the most valuable because he brings in the most views and has the biggest fan following. Thus he's going to earn more money than some random person that brings in about half the views a video. Pretty much all of the public "pay gap" things were complete nonsense and thrown out of court.

reading these comments is hilarious. People lost there minds and fought hard for changes to be made at BA, all in the name of Sohla, here we are 5 months later, no sohla, no priya, no rick, no molly, no Carla, no gabby, and now the changes are made. people are in the comments like oh wait it doesn't feel like a BA video, it feels like (insert other company name here). yes you right, it doesn't feel like normal BA videos because the era of videos is dead. The personalities that made these videos so popular have all walked away, and with the change comes a new way of doing everything, mentioning this change in every video they post going forward is just exhausting . You cant have it both ways
